The Anglican Chaplaincy of the Costa Blanca

Welcome to the recordings of our Zoom lent course for 2025, open to anyone who would like to attend

LENT 2025

The Chaplaincy of the Holy Spirit, Costa Blanca

This year marks  the 1700th Anniversary of  the Nicene Creed, which was proposed by the Council of Nicea which met in 325 AD

The Council was attended by Bishops from all over the then Christian world – including Britain

We say the Nicene Creed every Sunday – as does almost every other Christian denomination - and it is the formative basis of the Christian Faith, but do we really understand it?

The course is led by Fr Rodney Middleton

Course Programme

Wednesday March 12th

ONE GOD

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,

maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen

Course Part 1 audio

Wednesday March 19th

JESUS: INCARNATION

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ the only Son of God,

eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father;

through him all things were made.

For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven,

was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and was made man.

Course Part 2 audio

Wednesday March 26th

JESUS: REDEMPTION

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered death and was buried.

On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;

he ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,

and his kingdom will have no end.

Course Part 3 audio

Wednesday April 2nd

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.

Course Part 4 audio

Wednesday April 9th

THE CHURCH

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

Amen.
