Safeguarding in the chaplaincy

The care and protection of children, young people and adults involved in Church activities is the responsibility of everyone who participates in the life of the Church

The Church of England requires that each centre of worship (in our respect, The Chaplaincy of the Holy Spirit, Costa Blanca North) has a suitably trained person, designated and approved by the Council of the Chaplaincy, to act as a Safeguarding Officer (the CSO), who will oversee safeguarding issues in concert with the lead chaplain

This individual shall act as the liaison officer between the centre of worship and the Diocesan Safeguarding body (the Diocesan Safeguarding team (DST))

The outline job description for the CSO is available here

It is the responsibility of the Churchwardens to ensure that appropriate levels of safeguarding are in place in this Chaplaincy
